They connect nonprofit organizations, donors, foundations, and businesses. More than 400,000 users per month come to www.guidestar.org seeking information about the nonprofit sector that is unavailable anywhere else. During the past decade, Guidestar has become the primary on-line public research library for the entire nonprofit sector. |
Association of Fundraising Professionals |
The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) is the professional association of individuals responsible for generating philanthropic support for a wide variety of nonprofit, charitable organizations. Founded in 1960, AFP (formerly the National Society of Fund Raising Executives) advances philanthropy through its more than 26,000 members in 172 chapters throughout the world. |
The Foundation Center |
Founded in 1956, the Foundation Center is dedicated to serving grant seekers, grant makers, researchers, policymakers, the media, and the general public. The Center collects, organizes, and communicates information on U.S. philanthropy; conducts and facilitates research on trends in the field; provides education and training; and ensures public access to information and services through its Web site, print and electronic publications, five library/learning centers, and a national network of over 200 Cooperating Collections. |
The Chronicle of Philanthropy |

In print, The Chronicle is published biweekly except the last two weeks in June and the last two weeks in December (a total of 24 issues a year). |

BBB Wise Giving Alliance |
Give.org is the site of the new BBB Wise Giving Alliance, the alliance formed by the merger of the National Charities Information Bureau and the Council of Better Business Bureaus' Foundation and its Philanthropic Advisory Service. The site contains reports on nationally soliciting charitable organizations and recommendations on making informed giving decisions. |
